When playing master quality tracks from Tidal (96k to the best of my knowledge), the screen on the BTR5 shows that it's playing at 48k. I've tried 2 different phones and the problem persists. Is there a something special that must be done to get the BTR5 to play tracks at 96k through USB? Thanks in advance.

Dear friend,

Are you selecting the u-audio option in the BTR5 to 2.0?

And did you try another app like FiiO Music app in your phone? If the issue does not happen in other app, please check the setting in the Tidal app as well.

Best regards

It's set at usb 2.0 and Tidal is playing master quality yet it's at 48k. Please suggest a solution or is the unit defective?

Dear friend,

The BTR5 does not support MQA. Did you try to play a higher sampling rate music via the FiiO Music app instead of playing the MQA file?

So let me get this straight - even though the BTR5 "supports" up to 384k, you can’t listen to anything off Tidal above 48k? Since you suggest using the Fiio Music app, how would I use it to listen to the higher quality music I pay for with my subscription? If there is a way to, that would be helpful. If not, then this device is useless to everyone paying the extra $10/month for the Hi-Fi subscription on Tidal. You should make that clear. Can you fix this crippling aspect of its functionality with a firmware update?

Or you could check by playing the music files which having higher sampling rate.

If you are playing mqa file, the unfolding is only up to 2x via the Tidal app. So your output sampling rate is that low. If you would like to get the benefit of mqa, you should choose the player or dac which support mqa decoding.
