Hi folks!
Today I bought first DSD album (1bit, 2.8MHz, dsf files) via German label Cybele. As playback device I used iPhone SE2020, FiiO app, Q1Mk2 DAC, via Line-out SoundBlaster E1 and to headphones (nevermind this setup right now, it was just for test). I tap on first track, all good here, DSD LED lit up, playback nice and clear. Until I tried to turn screen off - loud digital noise appear on my headphones, like really loud! So I unlocked and tried to make screenshot - yes, even worse digital noise - here I realized that it is fighting between sound processing of DSD in Q1 and playback of iOS system sounds. Then it gets worse again: I locked screen, and while one track ends, loud noise appears and start next track and then Q1 froze down completely, no response for turning off/on. After reset works fine. But I was not able to lock my phone again - playback stops immediately. Then I changed output to headphones (single ended) and there was no loud noise at all while switching DSD tracks, but still, I can listen to my music only with screen constantly on.

Any of this occurs on MP3 nor flac files.

Is this known issue, or am I only one with such pain? ;)

Edit:
I have news: when DSD files played from Android device, latest FiiO music app, when switching from one song to another loud pop sound appears in headphones (same as on iPhone). Now I am wondering: is it app related issue, DAC related issue, or is it standard behaviour when playing DSD ( I freaking hope not! ).

We did not receive the similar feedback from other user.

Did you check via another DSD file? And does the issue remain when using other app like Hiby music?

Best regards

Thank You for reply! As You suggest, I tried to install Hiby music app on both iOS and Android devices. For iOS, it solved loud sounds while song transition from one to another. Sound is nice and clear, no unwanted sounds, DSD LED was on. Until I get notification or try to lock my phone - as I mentioned before, it looks like DAC is fighting between internal decoding and forwarding system sounds. After I lock my phone, I can turn on screen and press play button on lock screen and playback continue. But when I receive notification, again loud "digital" noise and playback stops.
On Android device I am not able to pair Q1MKII with Hiby music app yet. I need to further investigate.
Unfortunately, these are only DSD/DSF files I have. Right now it is not so spread in Europe and it is relatively hard to get those files. Therefore I am not able to try other DSD right now.

It may be a switch sound created because of PCM and DSD file switching. Or you could try to turn off the notification sound when playing DSD file?
