Better say the Fiio is able to decode mqa from any app, if the output stream is real mqa (bit perfect). So yes we are waiting a new app release from the Tidal without the issue, which convert the app's output to 16bit on every Andriod 7 device.  M6, M9, ...............

This is a bit frustrating, Fiio. For me the 8x streaming via Tidal was THE selling point for the M11 Pro SS I bought. It's a fantastic DAP in every other respect, don't get me wrong, but right now far from fulfilling its potential because of this hold up to Tidal 8X straming. I get better MQA via Tidal sound on my old set up of an Dragonfly Black plugged into my iPhone...  When I listed to the few HD albums I have, then the real magic starts...

Have you contacted the Tidal support in the subject?, because Tidal can fix it.

New FiiO update for M11/M11 Pro/M15 with global MQA support is finally available!
My FiiO M11 Pro automatically offered the update today. I was looking for that for too long to listen MQA files on Tidal.

How to upgrade the M11/M11PRO/M15：

The player supports online upgrade. If a new firmware is available and detected (with the player connected to Internet), you will find the update notification in the notification center. Then you can tap on it to enter the update menu for online upgrading.
If there's no update notification found, you can open the "Technical Support" app, enter the "Firmware Update" menu, then tap the "Check for updates" icon to check manually.
Also, the player can be upgraded locally using firmware package: Download the firmware file from FiiO website then copy the firmware package file to the internal memory or micro SD card; Open "Technical Support" app on the player, enter the "Firmware Update" menu, and select the firmware package file to upgrade.

Now that You can Unfold Full MQA (8x) using TIDAL app in Fiio M11 Pro y have some questions:
1. When I use M11 pro via USB/DAC Mode (TIDAL on the MacBook Pro), it makes the complete unfold (8x)?
2. When I use TIDAL on the M11pro is necessary/Helpfull to have the DSD option in ON?
3. Whe I use M11pro as AIRPLAY spot, I still hearing MQA quallity? The complete one?

Finally, when you use Tidal, is there an optión to view what is really happening with audio quality? (If is MQA, not MQA, just 2x MQA, the complete 8XMQA? Or it will be a blind test forever?

Dear user,

MQA of M11pro is not supported in USB DAC mode.  

For Tidal, it will only output 16bit when it detect the system is Android 7, we have reported the problem and solution to Tidal and MQA offical at the end of May, so we just need to wait Tidal update to solve it. Let's wait patiently or you may email to Tidal support to ask for the progress.

Hi, I have a question.
I am using UAPP to play tidal master. In the app, it's show Direct: 384KHz MQA FLAC 96KHz 24bit 1587kbps.
But on top at the notification bar , Fiio show MQA 96k instead of 384KHz. Which is the true info? Is it full unfold?

There is an option called ALL TO DSD in the Audio menu of the M11pro. I want to know how to take advantage of it or if it affect Tidal Files (MQA or Not).

Ok! Thank You Skyleo. I decided to buy the UAPP in the Fiio Google Store. I notice I need to buy and extra MQA Core extension. Do You know hoy to do it? I navigate in the whole app (a lot of technical options) And I doesn't find the Way. I sub-sign in TIDAL option and appears 96k, but no blue/green light.

First you have to buy the UAPP app from google store..then in the app, left hand side open the side bar, then press on MQA, you have to purchase the MQA license first, then you can use MQA..

Then:
Setting>>internal hi res audio>>bit perfect mode>>when possible

After choose bit perfect mode when possible thn other just left it default..

I'm pretty sure that in this case 2x should mean just the first unfold that can be done by the Tidal app itself, and not a special capability of the device. mxplayer get-mxplayer.in

Does anyone here aware that somehow Tidal is able to play the same bitrate as played through UAPP (albeit sans MQA symbol in the notification bar)?

For example if I played an MQA file through Tidal, it will show 96K, similar with UAPP which also will show 96K but with an additional MQA symbol.

That being said, it seems that the quality is still better if it is played through UAPP. Have not tried to volume match, but it starts with a noticably lower volume.

Can anybody confirm this finding? If my memory serves me right, it used to stuck at 44.1k no matter the song played.
