FIIO X5III hangs & lots of crackling noise when using OTG.

Hello fellow X5 3rd gen users.
I've just bought a new Chord Mojo to pair with my X5III, however i found when i use the mojo via OTG ( micro to micro ) cable, i got a lot of crackling noise.

I've tried using my Mojo with my Iphone 7 via OTG + Lighting adapter ; Lotoo 5000 + OTG micro to micro same cable as the one i use with my X5III and it's clean sounding , no interference / crackling sound.

Is it a common problem with FIIO X5 3rd Gen ? anyone experiencing the same problem as i do ? Do you have any solutions ?

* using the coaxial port seems OK.
*im on 1.1.6 firmware, adn reflashing the firmware doesnt seem to help

May I know what file format are you playing? I also have the same set-up x5 iii gen and chord mojo(usb to usb connection) have no problem though I only use 44.1khz flac file..

I have had this problem with other devices (computer, not X5).  It was related to USB power for hi-res files.  It seems the USB bus needs high power to handle the bit rates for hi-res audio transfer.

I have not encountered the crackling sound but occasionally my fiio x5 3rd gen freezes and when using usb to usb(chord mojo) and needs to hard power off.

I already received information from Fiio customer service, it's the same as michael_chu_! posts.
They said to wait till the new firmware fixes this problem.

no im using coaxial cable and no problem, except i feel like the blackground is more black with usb otg, however the soundstage is wider using coaxial. maybe thats just me ( using platinum PP coax & litz 25awg )

I have two X5 m3's with 1.1.7 and we still don't have USB OTG, how is this possible? This is a feature that was supported by ipods over ten years ago and critical for my setup (Schiit Jotunheim) where the only digital input I have is USB. I keep seeing this is a feature that is coming which is why I bought my second unit...when I saw 1.1.7 was released I thought for sure we'd finally have this very basic feature. FIIO, please tell us WHEN this feature is going to be added, not just that is coming. Thank-you.

the crackling sound using micro to micro cable still exist after 1.1.8, i wonder when this will be fixed ????

as for today i've tried to use fiio 1.1.9 firmware and the crackling noise when using micro to micro usb is still there.

however i also tried FIDELIZER 1.1.9 firmware and using APOLLO player fixes this problem, i can use the micro usb port to my MOJO without any crackling noise.

and i'm quite sure the real problem lies in FIIO MUSIC PLAYER MODE & not fixed yet with the latest update.

WHEN WILL FIIO TAKE NOTICE OF THIS PROBLEM AND FIXES IT? FIDELIZER & apollo app works good but i like the interface on fiio music mode better.

I am facing this problem trying to play music by USB OTG from FiiO M15 or Samsung Galaxy Note 10 with  FiiO Music app v3.0.3. There is exactly same behaviour in both cases with my Woo Audio Eclipse 8 combo. It works without any issues playing music from Neutron app Hiby Music apps, however I prefer FiiO Music app interface. How to fix this issue? Tried various cables, USB modes, no success.

Did you check via another usb adapter?
