Q: What's the capacity of the A5 or E12A's battery--is it replaceable?

A: The E12A utilizes a Li-polymer battery of 7.4V/1500mAh. And the The A5 utilizes a Li-polymer battery of 11V/880mAh.
It is not user-replaceable (not without a soldering iron anyway).

I've opened the A5 (unscrew the two screws in back, pop up the bass boost pin, then slide the cover off).
The battery is a bundle made of a series of 3 separate Li-Po batteries with 3.7V and 880mAh each (and a battery management system board).

I'm attempting to solder different batteries in place so I can keep using it. I found the battery code
"364747" here, with the exact same dimensions (4.7cm x  4.7cm and 2mm high). It's 3.7V but 1000mAh instead of 880mAh. I hope it'll work regardless.

The batteries will be delivered in 3months. I'll update this post then.
It would be nice if FiiO offered replacement batteries, they clearly have the connections to get those made :-)
